About
In order to provide books and periodicals in the field of physics in the national academic circles, the Physics Research Promotion Center set up a library on the third floor of the Physics Museum of National Tsinghua University in the 55th year of the Republic of China, covering an area of about 250 square meters, which is an important palace for domestic physics collections. In the 81st year of the Republic of China, the “Physics Branch of the National Tsing Hua University Library” was officially established and connected to the academic network of Tsinghua University, integrating the functions of book cashier, circulation, collection inquiry, periodical information inquiry, etc., and readers can directly inquire about their personal borrowing status and reserved books through the library system.
With the increase of the collection, the space gradually insufficient, in the 103rd year of the Republic of China, through the coordination and efforts of Tsinghua University, the basement of the second comprehensive library was won to store about 25,000 copies of paper journals (including electronic journals) in Western literature. The original space is planned as a physical learning resource center, which is mainly divided into four major areas: collection area, data retrieval area, reading area and discussion room (conference room), which is a very complete physical library and learning resource center.
With the advent of the digital age, the Center for Physics established “AIP (American Institute of Physics), APS (American Physics Society), OPG (Optica Publishing Group) and IOP (Institute of Physics)” in the 90s of the Republic of China by uniting 32 universities and research institutes and four major publishers in the field of physics and applied physics The “Four Physics Electronic Journal Alliance” is a major event in the physics community. Since its establishment more than 20 years ago, it has successfully enabled nearly 400,000 researchers and students in the alliance to quickly and directly query the information of dozens of electronic journals of the above four major alliances.

☆ “Self-service Borrowing and Returning Machine“:
- Readers can operate and use the books by themselves during the opening hours of the library, and the books that have completed the return process should be placed in the “Returned” bookcase.
- Reserved books and overdue books cannot be returned at the “self-service borrowing and returning machine”, so please contact the librarian at 9:00~17:00 on the opening day.
