Faculty Position in Institute of Applied Physics, National Chengchi University

The Institute of Applied Physics at National Chengchi University invites applications for one full-time faculty position.

1. Position

       Assistant Professor or above — One Position

2. Expected Starting Date

       The position will commence as early as August 1, 2027 (Fall Semester of Academic Year 2027).

3. Qualifications

       Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Hold a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan.
2. Have postdoctoral research experience or relevant teaching and/or research experience.
3. Demonstrate the ability to teach courses in English (English as a Medium of Instruction, EMI).

4. Areas of Expertise and Teaching Responsibilities

1. All areas of specialization are welcome. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in computational fields, such as:
   • Quantum computing
   • Data analysis
   • System simulation
   • Materials simulation
   • Circuit design
   • Other related computational fields
2. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the Institute’s overall curriculum planning and teach core courses in the Institute of Applied Physics and the Bachelor’s Program in Electronic Physics, as well as relevant general education courses.

• Copies of the highest degree certificate and relevant academic/employment certificates
  • Applicants with degrees obtained outside Taiwan must have their credentials authenticated by the relevant Taiwan overseas representative office.
• Copy of teaching certificate, if applicable
• List of publications and full texts of several representative publications
• Proposed future research plan
• List of courses the applicant is qualified to teach, teaching plan, and relevant teaching experience
• Three letters of recommendation. Recommenders should send their letters directly by email to physics@nccu.edu.tw
• Other supporting documents relevant to the application
• Completed Faculty Application Form (attached)

6. Application Procedure and Deadline

     Please submit all application materials electronically by email to physics@nccu.edu.tw no later than January 5, 2027. Please use “Application for Faculty Position at the Institute of Applied Physics” as the subject line of the email. If the files are too large to send by email, applicants may provide a link to a cloud storage folder. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis upon receipt. The Institute reserves the right to close the application period early if a suitable candidate has been selected and the appointment process has begun. After the initial review, selected candidates will be invited for an interview. Applicants who are not invited for an interview will not be notified separately.
