Sign IOP Transfer Agreements (TAs) to enhance membership benefits

Developed by the Centre for the Advancement of Physical Research (PRPC) under National Science and Technology Council (NSTC); hereinafter referred to as the Center) and IOP Publishing (IOPP) signed a three-year Transformative Agreement (Transformative Agreement; TAs)。

Under the agreement, faculty members from the 20 universities and institutions within the IOP journal consortium will have free access to all research published in the IOPP and will have unlimited access to Open Access (OA) articles, while retaining the copyright of the articles.

The main purpose of the signing is to promote the benefits of public publication of research by authors within the Center’s IOP journal consortium in order to increase publication visibility and enable qualified researchers to reach more people through their research work, in line with the growing trend of promoting open access.

Prof. Pak-chung Chen, Director of PRPC, said, “The transition agreement we have reached with IOPP will help achieve our mission in promoting the development of physics in Taiwan. With this agreement, more research will be available in an open manner, which will really help expand the reach of some of Taiwan’s most influential academic institutions.

Julian Wilson, IOPP’s Chief Business Officer, said: “We are truly aligned with the Centre for the Advancement of Physics in our shared passion for the physical sciences. Our protocol supports the growing open access within the region, enabling qualified researchers to reach more people through the results of their work. We’re excited to be a part of this transformation. ”
